Thought I'd pop over real quick... see if there was any action.... Nope. Do you use Facebook much? I check on MySpace more... probably because my BFF is there.... and it took so much time for me to figure out how to fancy up my page, where Facebook is just plain white. Can't stand plain white! ;) Went over to Brenda's last nite & she pierced my ears for me a couple of times. Got a fourth regular hole & then one up at the top. Five holes in each ear now. Such a rebel, me!!! HA HA HA! Am I a metal head now??? A metal head that listens to Carrie Underwood??? Tee-hee!
Well, hope your Christmas & New Year went well. Oh, there's the screaming. Best get going.... heavy sigh. Have a good day!!!
Rumors of my demise have been exaggerated. Work has been...well...work. I keep waiting for it to slow down like it normally does but so far that has shown no signs of happenning. UGH! It'd be different if we were selling but all it has been is an excercise in futility.
Christmas and New Years were okay - nothing to write home about. Slept through most of both. :-)
Happy Thanksgiving! NOPE. No cooking for me this year. We're going to my gma's in Falls City tomorrow. Today I slept in a little bit... didn't go to bed til one, so it evens out. Now I'm doing homework. Woo-hoo! Kids are gonna eat frozen pizza. I'm having a diet shake. Livin' the dream, Baby... livin' the dream! ;)
I usualy cook a turkey, but this is the first time it is for anyone but me. My turkey trick is to baste it with maple syrup then wrap it in bacon and baste the bacon with syrup too. The drawback is that it isn't good for soup, the benefit is that it definitely locks in the flavor and the moisture.
Interesting...ha! I am playing host for the 1st time ever - my mom is out visiting (has been with my sister & neice & nephew in San Diego all week.) They and my cousin & his boyfriend are all coming up & I am doing the majority of the cooking. I really enjoy cooking the turkey (I know...i'm sick.) But between now and tomorrow I have a million plus things to do. Am trying several new recipes to boot - pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie bars (already cooked) etc. Will be nice to have a house full tomorrow! Am thinking I will start drinking tonight though! hee hee
Hey. Week's going OK. Screamer was in rare form today. AHHH! I don't have him Thursday or Friday, tho. Only one more day!!! Woo-hoo! My new kids are still working out beautifully. Had a full house today, but not my own kids. They had school. Did they not have school there?
No. Didn't get a new clock yet. I go to town this weekend & that is on my list!
The play was excellent. Very moving. It's about teenagers and their sexual awakening. Lots of "adult" themes throughout but a very universal story. The acting was great and the singing incredible. Definitely an A++.
Yeah, I'll take all the sleep I can get!!! My alarm didn't go off... AGAIN... this AM, speaking of more sleep! I woke at 720 & panicked. The big girls were actually roused by their own alarms & didn't need Mom backup, fortunately!!! I grabbed Bubby's clothes & sent him down to dress himself while I hopped in the shower. Lucky for me, I only had Screamer at 745 and my girls at like 9. PHEW!!! I'm going to have to get another alarm clock!!!
My satellite receiver... the one I JUST had replaced... it went out again. I was trying to watch a show to unwind the other nite & there was no picture on the screen. It showed the little "info" blurb at the top, but that was it.... both for "live" tv & the recorded shows. CRAP~ I unplugged, re-plugged. Still nada. I did it again & this time a fan noise was being emitted, but there was absolutely no other sign of life to the little box. No little light. No pretty blue circle thing. Nothing. I called & TRIED to speak to a Spanish individual who initiated conversation in his native tongue. Excuse me??? ENGLISH!!!! I don't know what all he said. I probably agreed to name my next child Paco, for all I know. I figure I'm in the clear since I ain't havin' no more chillin's! ANYWAY... a new receiver should be en route. Yeah! Like I have time to watch TV, but at least I can record them to watch at a later date... Like when I'm 45!!!!
