About Me:
I have a truly wonderful wife named Julie. If you had the chance to meet her at the reunion, you realize that she is far more intelligent than I!!! She grew up in the Paducah, KY area in a little town called Lone Oak, and still has a sweet accent. She graduated both under-grad and graduate school at University of Louisville. She is the Associate Director of Substance Abuse and CADC Treatment for Chestnut Healthcare in Granite City, IL. She actually tries to help all those that I used to just lock up.
I worked in law enforcement for about 10 yrs. It was fun, but one day it struck me that wearing a gun and bullett proof vest was't doing it for me any more. I left KS in April of 1999, and went to work for UPS. That was ok for the short term. I was getting into singing and music again, so I auditioned and secured a gig to perform (singing) professionally with the CornerStone Choralle and Brass Ensemble based out of St. Louis, MO It was an incredible time of travelling all over the US and Canada. We did a lot of benefit concerts for charities, mainly "Habitat for Humanity".
Playtime was over, and I moved down to Mayfield, KY to be with Julie. That was culture shock, not being part of the "good ol' boy" network in Western KY. There are some jobs I am proud of, some that I am not.
I eventually worked for the George S. May International Co, as Executive Analyst. While I was fairly successful at that, the travel was intense. That eventually lead to me taking over a broke-down medical practice in Elizabethtown, KY. It led to becoming a Certified Professional Coder, and then working for Yale University School of Medicine and the US Dept of Defense at Ireland Army Community Hospital at Fort Knox, KY. I was a Research Coordinator, and it was and extremely rewarding and educational experience. I was also the Hospital Liaison, which proved to be extremely helpful experience down the road, in my current profession. The Yale folks were amazing people, not at all what I had built up in my mind.
After that I decided to go back into consulting, this time focused on Medical Coding and Billing. I needed to practical experience in that field, so I worked for 2 yrs as a Coder for a billing company, and then a Cardiology group as their Lead Coder/Biller. Great experience, though I would not want to go back. I then went to work for LarsonAllen, a CPA firm based out of Minneapolis/St. Paul as a Senior Consultant, focusing on Medical Coding and Billing. They are a great company, and again, I learned so much, while being able to give great service in my areas of expertise.
In March of 2007 I decided to really focus on Medical Coding Education as well as consulting. To do this, I left LarsonAllen to start my company, ProMed Coding Education and Consulting, LLC. I liken starting a business to jumping off a cliff... you have to have faith that you can beat the odds and actually fly! So far, so good here. It was been a little anxious at times, but overall very rewarding. I still help LarsonAllen from time to time, as they still have not really filled my position. But ProMed is going full-steam, and as busy as we want to be!
Wow! Randy's music sure takes me back! Didn't he cut my hair??? Am I remembering correctly? Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Thanks for all you do!

did you or someone else create a social roster of those who attended the reunion? Was it suggested? Another good way to get the word out about the site... a non-intrusive way for us to all reconnect... just a thought.
Hi Andre...just a quick note, I saw my friend who does coding for the University of Washington Medical this weekend, and used my handy dandy phone to look up this site and get the name of your company, and she is familiar with it. I thought that was neat. Anyway...have a great day.
I'm not taking credit for the conversion - I asked a geek-friend of mine to do it for me. He had the technology; I didn't, at the time. Now, if a circuit board had fried, or he needed a computer assembled - my training would have been handy... a suitable use of the tax dollars invested in my training!!! :-)
Yes, our version of Havendance has so much more energy. Mr. Meisel was a great band teacher. Wasn't he the one who "took" Havendance away, saying we weren't ready to learn & play it? A neat trick of reverse psychology...
Andre, I found my mp3 files of the band at Cavalcade of Music. I've uploaded them to my profile, but if you want to add them to the main page, feel free to do so... I think we sound soooo much better than the versions you found... (of course, I may be a little bit biased!)
Thank you for your comments on my blog. You are right about our class, it is kind of like extended family in many respects, I just hadn't thought of it in those terms.
Andre, I found the site through Classmates - Kristi sent me a message, and included the web address. I like the site you have created - an awesome way for our class to stay connected.
Andre, Thanks for the comment. I had a great time with the classmates. It was good to see everyone. I like the pic you have posted on the web site. Will stay in touch. Jeff
