Hi Cindy - read through your bio - looks life has been very good to you. Human Resources is an entertaining career field to be in - I've been in the mix for six years! Kudos to you and yours for being foster parents. I've been told that it is often morre challenging than being a birth parent. My hat off to you in respect.
Cindy - Sure wish I was going to see you at the reunion. I can't believe it has been 20 years. Your bio cracks me up - are you talking like you've lived in Alabama for a while??!! I know I would if I lived in the South. Anyway, sounds like you are having a great time. What an awesome thing to be foster parents - I'm sure it's the hardest most rewarding thing you've done. Also, congrats on the new marriage. Tell your mom "Hi" too! Take care and keep in touch. I hope we can keep this website up for our future reunions!!
Andi says she misses you and we hope you can come to the reunion. Wow, you have been all over the place. We have friends in Pell City - another spot outside of Birmingham. Happy 4th of July!
I totally agree weenie dogs are the best. My little girl puts me through my paces though. I thought I was stubborn but I don't hold a candle to her. ha ha. Pure weenie attitude. She is a lot of company and she has "lightning tongue" - she'll climb up on my lap and give me kisses but is dangerous because she is too quick. Got to have my lips pursed tightly together, luckily I typically remember, but there are those off times. She got my roommate the other night and I almost wet myself from laughing so hard. (The dogs in our house have identity issues...my little one thinks she is a big dog, and her dog - a Lab Weinerrammer mix - thinks he is a little one.)
I vaguely remember Candy from when I would come play with you and Earl Archer. Do you ever hear from Earl Archer? I saw him once when I lived in Wichita - he was visiting from Topeka and happened to be at a bar/club that I frequented. This was probably about 3 or 4 months before I moved to California so that's been 13+ years.
Yeah, I remember you and Deanna (sp?) came to my Mom's house before the reunion. The boys were only 1 and 2 at the time. Now they're ALMOST taller than me (they haven't passed me YET). That will be wonderful if you and your husband do decide to adopt. There are so many children out there who need a good home and loving family!
Hi Cindy,
It is great to see you on here and to read your story. I have wondered about you many times over the years, and am glad that life has been good to you.
I am impressed - a foster parent. That is a truly a tough labor of love, and I commend you on doing it.
3 Weenie dogs? WOW! My one just about puts me through the ringer daily. I have no idea how she got so spoiled. hee hee. She is a lot of love and companionship though, and she constantly is making me laugh. She totally thinks that she is a big dog, so I got a kick out of your "wannabe" statement about your chuweenie. too cute.
I hope you will post some pics so that we can see you and your family.
Empire, Alabama (don't bother bustin' out your atlas...it's a wide spot in the road near Birmingham)
Children's Names and Ages:
Camrie 6 and Joshua 4 (foster children we have had since Dec. 07)
My career:
I have worked for Home Depot for nearly five years and work in human resources as an associate coordinator.
About Me:
I got married almost two years ago after living in sin for nearly four years :). My husband's name is Roy and he is a machinist. We have five dogs and one stinky cat (the cat came in the marriage). We have two Akitas that stay OUTSIDE and three indoor dogs. Two weenie dogs and one weenie dog wanna be! She was sold to us a weenine dog, but she is part Chiuauhua. We call her our weenie dog on stilts and our chuweenie.
Life has been good to me for the past TWENTY years!?!!!??? I have lived in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Alabama-part of the witness protection program-ha! just joking! After college, my job took me to all of those states except Alabama. Love brought me to Alabama! My mom lives about 20 miles from us (the same town I work in) and keeps our foster kids before/after school and other times we need her. She is a HUGE help and we could not do it without her. We do not have any children of our own as of yet- but God has a plan for all of us. The foster care program is going well for us. These two are our 9th and 10th kids we have had. We have had these two the longest. Some of the kids were just respite care for other foster parents.
We are planning on moving to the OKC/Tulsa area in a few years, so maybe we will get to some of you all more when we don't live on the edge of the earth.
